I liked Augustus Waters. I really, really, really liked him. I liked the way his story ended with someone else. I liked his voice. I liked that he took existentially fraught free throws. I liked that he was a tenured professor in the Department of Slightly Crooked Smiles with a dual appointment in the Department of Having a Voice That Made My Skin Feel More Like Skin.

I’ve never cried this much over a book

Ever. The Fault In Our Stars, specifically. What the heck, John Green? Really? You have to go and be a wonderful writer, build perfectly imperfect characters, and, okay, everything that is in that book is quotable. You know that moment when a book is so terribly wonderful that you have to just put it down and stare straight a head and just think to yourself, holy molies I can’t even…? Yeah. I had about 32948203 of those reading this book. Every sentence carries so much weight. Everything means so much. And I just fell in love with the characters. Hazel Grace: so selfless, so considerate, so smart, so real. Augustus Waters: so lovely, so funny, so enthusiastic, so grand. How could you not fall in love with him?

I’m so tired, being up at 1 in the morning, my eyes puffy and my ego thrown out the window as I sob pathetically on my living room couch. It was so good and horrible and  ahhh…skfjasldjflsflsdfksdlf. I love this book so much.
